Candidate safety
A REAL JOB DOES NOT START WITH A FEE.
Recruitment scams target people who need work. These rules help you recognise genuine WeBecome contact and protect your information.
Last updated · 19 August 2026What we will not ask for upfront
We will not ask for your banking password, PIN, card security code, one-time password or payment to release a job. The initial website application does not request identity documents or banking details.
Before you trust a message
Check that the role, location and process make sense. Be cautious of pressure to act immediately, guaranteed jobs without screening, requests to move money, unofficial payment accounts, spelling-heavy messages or links that imitate the WeBecome name.
A genuine process
Applying creates a candidate profile; it does not guarantee work. A genuine opportunity will have an identifiable role and employer requirement. Further documents are requested only when relevant and through an explained process.
If something feels wrong
Do not pay, do not share an OTP and do not send further documents. Save the message, number, email address, payment request and screenshots. Use our request form, choose “Report suspected recruitment fraud” and include only the details needed for us to investigate.
If you already shared information
Contact your bank immediately if financial details or money were involved. Change affected passwords, report the account or number to the platform used and consider reporting the matter to the South African Police Service. If your WeBecome application information may be involved, tell us through the secure report form.
